Key Tasks:

• Providing scientific support to AREEO’s researchers through assessments and dissemination of information.
• Providing hardware and software support by developing information systems, establishment of technological infrastructures, and publication of scientometric reports based on the scientific products of AREEO.
• Policy-making, planning, developing, and monitoring of information technology activities including network management, hardware, and software support, software product development, and in its affiliated research centers and units.
• Providing rules, instructions, and regulations in the field of agricultural information technology in AREEO and its affiliated research centers and units.
• Policy-making, monitoring, evaluation, and providing advisory services for the establishment and operation of new libraries and information units in the AREEO’s affiliated units and Ministry of Agriculture-Jahad.
• Supervising, assessing, and monitoring the information needs of AREEO researchers and faculty members.
• Monitoring AREEO publications through maintaining and managing a comprehensive system of publications.
• Organizing, processing, and disseminating scientific and technical information and providing information services by using new information technologies and digitization of scientific resources.
• Developing databases and information resources (including guidelines, directories, catalogs, development of information systems, expert systems, and multimedia resources).
• Management, evaluation, support, and updating of the AREEO’s website and all affiliated centers and units.
• Management, evaluation, support, and updating of AREEO e-services.
• Preparing up-to-date scientometric reports on the scientific products of AREEO.
• Continuously upgrading hardware and software of existing systems based on recent and up to date technologies.
• Research on the establishment of digital libraries according to the latest technological achievements.
• Providing training courses related to information and information technology and cooperation in holding online courses through web conference systems.
